Third Grade Oklahoma Unit includes Oklahoma History Day and Oklahoma Celebration and Land Run:

Third graders were visited by Sky Shivers, an Oklahoma History Storyteller.  Later, students participated in pioneer activities, games, and made crafts.  Students displayed their Oklahoma research and projects in an Oklahoma Museum for students and parents to visit.  A celebration of pioneer dances and songs was performed in the Primary School gym followed by a reenactment of a land run on the third grade playground.  After the land run, students filed their claims at the land office.  Families concluded the day with a picnic on their claim.
