Five Holland Hall Seniors Semifinalists in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program

Five Holland Hall seniors have qualified as National Merit Semifinalists in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program: Michael Barton, Philip Gamble, Sarah Keglovits, Nick Weaver, Cici Zhou. More than 1.5 million high school juniors nationwide took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) in October 2011. Of this number, the top one half of one percent qualify to become semifinalists. 15,000 of the highest performers were recently designated Semifinalists. Semifinalists are the highest scorers in each of the 50 states and represent less than one percent of each state’s high school seniors. They will be competing for 8,400 National Merit Scholarships that will be offered next spring.
