Holland Hall Middle School Students participate in the French Exchange 2014
Mar 27, 2014

Eighth grade Holland Hall French students have the possibility of experiencing French culture first-hand through an exchange program with Tulsa’s sister city of Amiens, France. A select group of Holland Hall eighth graders undergo a ‘total’ immersion experience as they live with French host families and attend Sainte-Famille, a private school, in northern France for a period of two weeks.
The French Exchange is often a first stepping-stone to becoming global citizens for our Holland Hall 8th graders. Selection is based on both academic and ambassadorship qualities. Once the students are accepted and then make a commitment to be part of the French Exchange, they are involved in weekly culture studies to help them deal with culture shock and navigate cultural differences.
The students will host their French counterparts the last week of May and travel to France the first week of June. For the first time in 12 years, the French students from Amiens will be coming to Tulsa before Holland Hall students travel to France.
