The search for Holland Hall’s next head of school is progressing on schedule. The priority for the past several weeks has been the creation of a “Leadership Profile” that describes the opportunity Holland Hall represents for potential candidates and the characteristics we are seeking from our next head of school. The Leadership Profile incorporates input from the entire Holland Hall community gathered from the online survey in early March, two days of group meetings and one-on-one interviews conducted by our search consultants — Ned Becker and Jim Maggart of Educators’ Collaborative — in late March, and ongoing collaboration between the search committee and the school’s faculty and administration. The Leadership Profile serves as the executive summary for a more comprehensive document called the Information for Candidates Report, which contains over 30-pages of detail and narrative about Holland Hall.
Although conversations with potential candidates have been ongoing since January, distribution of these recruiting documents serves to formalize these conversations, as well as stimulate interest from additional candidates. The deadline for applications from candidates is July 1. The search committee will review these applications in August in anticipation of interviews and campus visits in September and October. Advisory committees of parents and faculty have been formed to participate in the interview process next fall.
Preliminary interest in the Holland Hall opportunity has been strong — an “8 or 9” (out of 10) — according to our consultants. We are proud of the recruiting documents candidates are receiving now, and hope these tools might just get us to a “10″. ?
