Quarter Finalists Selected

The search committee is pleased to report significant progress in the search for Holland Hall’s next head of school. Throughout the spring and early summer our consultants for the search, Ned Becker and Jim Maggart, compiled extensive dossiers on 22 candidates for the position. The candidate pool is very strong, comprised of 10 sitting heads, five assistant/associate heads, five division heads or academic deans, one former head, and one applicant from the college ranks.
The committee used the first three weeks of August to study the candidate files in preparation for a meeting held on August 26th to select seven quarter-finalists who will be invited to Tulsa for personal interviews in September. This initial round of interviews must be confidential out of respect for the needs of the candidates at this stage in the search. However, plans are in place to maximize the hospitality offered to each candidate within the confines of necessary discreetness.
In addition to the quarter-finalist interviews in September, these next few weeks will provide time for the faculty and parent advisory committees to prepare for the finalist interviews in October, when confidentiality can be set aside for the final phase of the search.
The schedule for October includes dates for the finalists to bring their spouse and family to Tulsa for two-day visits that will include coordinated interviews with the faculty and parent advisory committees and the search committee. These visits will also include social events, campus tours, and activities for the spouses and children of the candidates designed to demonstrate the merits of Holland Hall and the city of Tulsa.
Assuming an appropriate fit emerges from this process we expect to announce Holland Hall’s next head of school in early November.
