If you find a scholarship for which you wish to apply, see Mrs. Cooper in the College Counseling office, she will be happy to assist you.

Always check the financial aid/scholarship website of the colleges to which you apply.

Some colleges have additional scholarship applications and deadlines. Be sure to review the list of visiting colleges and universities found on the College Counseling Site. These schools are sending a representative to our campus to share the highlights of their programs and they are happy to talk about scholarship opportunities. Juniors and seniors may register on Naviance to meet with any of the college representatives. Sophomores are welcome to attend if they do not have a scheduled class during the visit time.

The OK Academic Scholars PROGRAM is available to all National Merit Finalists and to any student who scores an ACT sum total of 134 or and SAT critical reading and math total of a 1575. You must attend an Oklahoma college or university. Please check out the scholarship by clicking on the OK College Start link in the upper right hand corner of this page. |

Best Buy is awarding 1200 scholarships of $1,000. Students in grades 9-12 are eligible. Applicants must have solid grades plus community service or work experience. |

SportQuest announces the 2011-2012 Playing with Purpose Scholarship. A total of $12,500 of scholarships are available to Christian Student Athletes. To apply you must be a sophomore, junior or senior, maintain a minimum “C” average or higher, compete as a varsity athlete in one or more spots and be a committed follower of Jesus Christ. | 4. | University of Dayton announces the Leadership in Service Scholarship. Student must be nominated and must demonstrate an innate desire for personal development and a committment to service his his or her school, church, or community. | 5. | The Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs announces the 13th annual Citizenship essay contest. All entrants must be an Oklahoma high school senior. Question: “Is the United States Constitution a “living documnet?” Why or why not? The essay must be between 1,000 to 1,250 words. | You could win $5,000, 2,500, 2,000, $1,500, or $1,000 in a tuition scholarship paid to the college or university of your choice. | 6. | OSU School of Media and Strategic Communications is proud to offer seven scholarship opportunities for fall 2012 incoming freshmen. The OK Press Association and OK News Foundation will award five $2,000 scholarships to freshmen interested in one of three degrees Multimedia Journalism, Sports Media or Strategic Communications. The Media House will award two $1,800 scholarships to students planning to major in one of the three majors and live in the Media House, located in the “Village.” See Mrs. Cooper in the college office to pick up an application. | Deadline for all scholarships is February 24, 2012. | 2/2/12 |

| 8. | The Oklahoma Engineering Foundation has changed its scholarship program from a one-year scholarship to a four-year scholarship. Applicants must meet the following qualifications: 3.0 GPA minimum, ACT Composite 24 – 29 with a math sub test of 28 or above, major in an accredited engineering program at one these Oklahoma universities: OCU, OSU, OU, ORU, UCO,or TU, and be an Oklahoma resident.
