Tuition Assistance Process
Central to Holland Hall’s tuition assistance policy is the belief that the student’s family bears the primary responsibility for supporting the cost of attendance. At the same time, Holland Hall is committed to enrolling a strong, talented, culturally and socioeconomically diverse student body. Therefore, we seek to provide need-based tuition assistance to families who otherwise could not afford to enroll their children at the school. Holland Hall is in a unique position among many educational institutions in that our tuition assistance grants are funded entirely by endowment, investment income and restricted gifts rather than tuition income. Total tuition assistance grants awarded by Holland Hall in 2012-2013 amounted to $1,963,725. Almost 20% of Holland Hall families receive some amount of tuition assistance, and this commitment will grow significantly in the future.

Holland Hall also requires signed copies of the parents’ 2012 Federal Income Tax Form 1040, all accompanying schedules, W-2 forms, and Form 4506-T (Request for Copy of Tax Return), to complete the family’s tuition assistance file. You may down-load Form 4506-T on the right.
How does a family qualify for tuition assistance?
To qualify for tuition assistance, a student must have been admitted to Holland Hall and a family must have demonstrated need. Need is demonstrated when the family’s financial contribution is less than the tuition. A family’s contribution is determined through an analysis conducted by the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) based on information provided by the parents on the Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS). Families are strongly urged to apply for admission and for tuition assistance as early as possible for the best consideration to receive assistance if they qualify.
