Athletics Philosophy

Holland Hall School believes that a balanced and comprehensive athletics program provides every student with opportunities to become a well-rounded individual who understands and appreciates the valuable lessons inherent in competitive athletics. These lessons include commitment to a team ahead of one’s self, sportsmanship, a strong work ethic tempered by goal setting, and an appreciation for physical fitness. These attributes serve students well for a lifetime. The school values team sports as the cornerstone of the physical education program for 7th-12th Graders. The athletic competition fosters school spirit and provides opportunities for student-athletes to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and emotional character learned through participation in sports. The philosophy of any educational institution is directly tied to the requirements demanded of each student.
