The Tradition of Lessons and Carols.

Lessons and Carols at Holland Hall dates back to the 1960s. The service follows the King’s College Chapel version that begins in darkness, with a lone chorister singing the first verse of “Once in Royal David’s City” from the back of the church, followed by a candlelight procession through the sanctuary. Readings alternate with choir anthems and congregational singing.
