Start of school date change

August 5, 2020

Dear Holland Hall Families,

When we announced our start date, we did it knowing that our approach to the school calendar would be very flexible this year.

We’d hoped to start school early and get in as many days as possible before a projected second wave hit. That thinking has changed, but our objectives have not.

  • We want to get to 170 days of instruction,
  • We want to be on campus with as much normalcy as possible, and
  • We want to be flexible and make decisions that are best for our school community.

With that in mind, I’m announcing a delay to the start of school. We will phase in students and give our teachers more time for input and to prepare for simultaneously teaching in-person and in the classroom.

Although we feel confident with the safety measures we’ve put in place, giving ourselves a couple of additional weeks while numbers are still elevated will give our faculty and students time to practice and grow comfortable with the protocols.

Students in grades EPK-5th grades will start August 25.

Students in grades 6th-12th grades will start September 1.

We have every intention of returning to school in person, with the at-home option we’ve already announced for those families who need it. More information on the at-home learning option will be available soon.

We all love this community, and we appreciate your patience, your flexibility and your faith in our students and our school.

More information to come about additions to the uniform policies and the important dates below.
