An update for our Holland Hall families
Posted on: Aug 26, 2020
Dear Holland Hall Families,
We know the news about our first positive case of COVID-19 of the school year and delaying the start of third grade caused some concern in our community.
We responded as quickly as we could once the issue presented itself, and we want to keep our entire community up-to-date.
This is what we know as of right now.
An adult in close contact with our third-grade teaching team tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. Because of that direct exposure, the entire teaching team needs to quarantine pending test results. The health and safety of your children and our community remains our priority.
If it hadn’t been the first day of school — and we’d had time to get iPads to our third-grade students and time to establish classroom procedures — our plan to move to virtual learning could have been put in place. But timing wasn’t on our side.
We do not anticipate this problem if any other grade would need to move into virtual learning, which we all need to be prepared for this year. Our schedule is built upon flexibility. We will always try to give as much notice as possible.
The third grade will not start academic classes this week. We hope to start classes with them sometime next week.
We will keep you informed as we find out information and ask for your patience.
