35th Annual Deans’ and Directors’ Event at Holland Hall

Holland Hall Deans’ and Directors’ Event, sponsored by the College Counseling office, has a wonderful and rich history. Dating back to 1985, this event hosts top college admission professionals from across the United States.

Our guests spend the day on campus with Holland Hall students, and the capstone of the event is an evening program in which parents have the opportunity to ask questions of our distinguished panel of guests to learn about trends in the ever-changing landscape of selective college admission.

Join us Monday, January 27, 2020, at 6 p.m. in the Tandy Dining Hall when we welcome:

Mr. Gil Villanueva
Associate Vice President and Dean of Admission
University of Richmond

Mr. Jeremiah Quinlan
Dean of Undergraduate Admission and Financial Aid
Yale University

Dr. Mary Wagner
Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management & Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions
University of South Carolina

The evening program is free and open to the public. Invite your friends from other schools!

60th Holland Hall Book Fair

This year we will be celebrating the 60th and FINAL Book Fair on Saturday, February 29th in the Primary School Gym.

Holland Hall’s Parents Association hosted its first Book & Art Fair in 1960. It raised a total of $1,463. This fundraiser has evolved over the years and is now the largest used book sale in the state. The Book Fair is open to the public, providing access to discount-priced, gently used, quality adult and children’s books, toys, games, movies, music, and educational resources.

After careful consideration, and contemplating the changing nature of how people read books and the opportunity to channel energies to new community endeavors, the school has decided that this year’s event will be its last.

This fundraiser is not possible without the help of the Holland Hall community. Your volunteer time and efforts are essential to the success of the Book Fair. Please join us in volunteering with setup the days before and the day of the event. Click on the links below to volunteer:

We are excited to receive your book donations up until Friday, February 21st.

To Your Health

It’s official—unfortunately, the flu and other viruses have arrived at Holland Hall. Now it is up to each of us to do everything possible to reduce the chance of getting sick as well as reduce the likelihood of spreading illness to others.

At this time, we strongly encourage the following prevention methods:

Get a flu shot!
It’s not too late! Flu vaccinations are available for adults and children at the Tulsa County Health Department, at local pharmacies, or from most primary care physicians

Wash your hands!
Practice good hygiene, washing your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds (the time it takes to sing the ABC song).

Cover it!
Cough or sneeze into a tissue or your elbow, not your hands.

Stay home!
If you develop symptoms of the flu, strep throat, or a stomach virus (vomiting, diarrhea) it is recommended that you see your primary care physician, stay home, and follow your doctor’s orders to treat the symptoms before returning to school or work. With early diagnosis of the flu, Tamiflu can be used to reduce the severity and duration of symptoms.

Remember, students and adults must be fever free for 24 hours, without the aid of fever reducing medications, and feel well enough to participate in school activities before they may return to school.

Holland Hall’s greatest priority is the health and well being of our community. We never want a student to feel obligated to attend school when sick. Administration and faculty are dedicated to assisting all students in making up missed assignments/tests due to illness.
