October Book Drive Winner
Congratulations to 5th Grade, who collected the most items for the October Book Drive and will be awarded a Chick-fil-A party! Thank you so much to everyone who donated and volunteered this last month – you all worked so hard! We hope to see you in the Book Room as we continue to sort your donations and prepare for the Annual Book Fair. Don’t forget to mark your calendar! See website for more details. Drive results are as follows:
1st – 5th Grade
2nd – 6th Grade
3rd – 4th Grade
4th – 7th Grade
5th – 8th Grade
4th Grade drop off and pick up are in the lane that is just off of 81st Street, north of the Middle School building. Entering from the middle gates and proceeding through the driveway going west will keep our traffic flow moving. Pick up is in the far right or far left lane, no students should ever be picked up in the middle lanes of any driveway, those are reserved for through traffic.
We continue to have 7th/8th cars blocking the lanes at the 3:10 pm pick up, making it difficult for 4th-6th graders to be picked up. If you are picking up your child at 3:30 pm, please arrive after 3:20 pm when the early carpool is ended.
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation to make our carpool lanes flow well!
Free Dress Day
Jackson Bucholtz, MS Head for the Day, officially announced at Assembly that Monday, November 4 will be a free dress day for all MS students and faculty.
Conferences and Fall Reports
You should have heard from your child’s advisor about setting up a Fall Conference. We will be out of school on Friday, November 8 to allow for these conferences to take place. These conferences are for parents and students.
Fall reports, with comments and grades, were mailed out on October 31. If you do not receive your report, please contact Erin Henderson in the business office to be sure we have all accurate information for your family.
8th-9th Grade Transition Meeting
At 6:30 pm on Tuesday, November 12, we will be hosting a meeting in the Barnard Commons to discuss the transition from the Middle School to the Upper School for parents of the class of 2024. During the school day, the 8th grade class will be attending a panel discussion on the same topic with Upper School Students. We hope that these events (one for students and the other for parent) will help create conversations at home about the transition to the Upper School. We look forward to seeing you there!
Middle School Family Math Night
Math is not just about numbers! All Middle School students and parents are invited to Family Math Night at the Tandy on Monday, November 18 from 6-7 pm. Join us for a fun evening of activities, games, puzzles, and snacks. See how fun and engaging playing with math can be!
