Special Projects

Gifts as unique as you are.

We are grateful to donors who provide funding for projects that are not able to be supported in the annual operating budget or by the school’s maintenance and capital endowment. Examples of past special projects funded by donors:

  • Climbing wall for the Primary School
  • Indoor hitting nets for golf practice
  • New Upper School parking lot to accommodate 44 additional spaces
  • Wireless system for Middle School Academic Team practice and competition

Academic and Arts Support

$2,500-$5,000

  • STEM education: Equipment and programming to enhance the makerspace in the Primary School including Rigamajig Add-on kits
  • Clinicians for Middle School orchestra workshops
  • Professional development opportunities for faculty that enrich the student experience
  • STEAM education components including Lego Education WeDo 2.0, Little Bits’ STEAM sets, microscopes and more for the Primary School science curriculum
  • New Holliman Gallery lighting to enhance and spotlight student artwork and gallery exhibits

$5,000-$10,000

  • Harkness Table
  • Band instruments to accommodate projected growth in participation

$10,000+

  • Financial aid support for qualified student(s) to enhance the Holland Hall community and the educational experience for every student
  • Dance studio renovations
  • Dressing room enhancements in the Walter Arts Center
  • New soundboards in the Branch Theater and the Newman Theater
  • New stage curtains in the Branch Theater
  • Re-skin stage floor in the Branch Theater
  • Expanded bleacher seating for the Newman Theater (Black Box)
  • Renovations to Upper School classrooms to include subject-specific furniture and technology

Health, Wellness, and Athletics

$5,000-$10,000

  • New track hurdles for Middle and Upper school
  • Dutch-branded wind screens for tennis, softball and baseball

$10,000+

  • Physical Education equipment, technology and programming for Primary and Middle School
  • Soccer and field hockey complex including seating, scoreboard and lighting
  • Playground equipment for Primary and Middle School playgrounds
  • New softball dugouts

$250,000+

  • New Press Box for Hardesty Field to accommodate operations (press, scoreboard, PA and webcast personnel) and home/visitor coaches

Safety, Transportation, and Maintenance

$5,000-$10,000

  • Battery-operated, portable LED lighting for outdoor events and activities
  • Small utility vehicles for the maintenance department

$25,000-$50,000

  • Campus security enhancements
  • Modernize All Saints Chapel interior lighting and ancillary spaces

$50,000 and up

  • Traffic light on 81st Street at main campus entrance – PARTIALLY FUNDED
  • New bus for field trips, School out of Doors (SOOD) programming, Freshmen Orientation, and athletics
  • New or used maintenance equipment including trucks, backhoes, etc.
  • Security guardhouse at main campus entrance

The “Dune’s Buggy” golf cart donated by the Beard family in 2017 assists in campus tours and visitor transportation.
