Holland Hall provides the highest quality education to our students thanks to the generosity of our community. Your gift to the Holland Hall Annual Fund has an immediate impact on the student experience by supporting academics, the arts, athletics, faculty, technology, and financial aid.
Every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference. We depend on the collective generosity of our entire community — parents, alumni, trustees, grandparents, parents of alumni, faculty and staff, business partners, and friends — to support our unique educational environment year after year. We are pleased to recognize our most generous Annual Fund supporters as members of the Founders Guild (gifts of $5,000 or more) and the Schureman Circle (gifts of $1,000 or more) in our annual registry of donors. Donors will also enjoy special recognition events each year – a casual Schureman Circle party in the fall of 2018 or a unique Founders Guild event in the spring of 2018.

Q: What is the Holland Hall Annual Fund?
A: The Annual Fund is the foundation of Advancement at Holland Hall and is the school’s most important fundraiser. As an Independent School, Holland Hall does not receive government funding, and instead relies upon a combination of tuition, donations, special events, and the yield from investments and endowments. As a result, Holland Hall has the freedom to define the unique mission of the school, admit students that meet or exceed the rigorous academic guidelines, attract and retain high-quality teachers, and choose the methods to assess student achievement and progress.
Q: Where do Annual Fund donations go?
A: Your gift to the Annual Fund has an immediate impact on the student experience, as all gifts are used in the year in which they are given. Your donation provides for teachers’ salaries, classroom supplies, technology resources and upgrades, library books and subscriptions, financial aid for qualified students, and support for exceptional arts and athletics programming. Your gift may be directed to an area meaningful to your family or you may choose to let the school direct it towards the area of greatest need.
Q: How much should I give?
A: A gift to the Annual Fund of any size makes a difference in the experience of our students and teachers. Each year, we ask all members of the Holland hall community to make a gift that is meaningful to them. Q: What kinds of donations can I make to Holland Hall?
A: A gift to Holland Hall can be as simple as making a pledge or writing a check, and you can make secure online gifts or payments on our website. Other kinds of donations include gifts of stock and matching gifts by an employer.
Q: Is my gift tax deductible?
A: Yes, gifts to the Holland Hall Annual Fund are tax deductible. You will receive a receipt in the mail shortly after making a donation.
Q: What is Holland Hall’s fiscal year?
A: The Holland Hall fiscal year runs from June 1 through May 31.
Q: How do I make a memorial gift or a gift in honor of someone?
A: Making a memorial gift or in honor of someone is easy. There is a clearly labeled field in the online giving form and the pledge envelopes where you can specify the honoree. You may also make the notation on your check or provide written correspondence to indicate the gift is in honor of someone.
Memorial gifts and/or gifts made in honor of someone are listed in a special area of the annual registry of donors. A note is sent from the office of Advancement to the family of the loved one or the honoree to notify them of the gift.
Q: Can I designate my Annual Fund gift for a special purpose?
A: Yes, you can designate your Annual Fund gift to academics, arts, athletics, faculty, technology, or financial aid. The Board of Trustees retains the discretion to use annual giving to support general operations should contributions to a particular purpose exceed the expenditure limits provided in the operating budget.
