All-School Information

Back to school — what you need to know

Welcome-back packets

Families won't receive traditional welcome-back packets in the mail this year. Instead, all of the information — including letters from the Branch Heads — will be on the online Parent Portal by the middle of next week.Make sure you can log in to the Parent Portal here.

We are watching COVID news closely

Head of School JP Culley shared this with faculty and staff members this week:I write with a quick update simply so you know we are looking very closely at the recent recommendations from AAP, CDC, and similar organizations. The Delta variant increases have certainly thrown many of us a bit of a curveball, but I assure you we will adjust reasonably toward a smooth and safe start to our Centennial year.Rest assured that we are not planning for, nor predicting, that we will need some of the more cumbersome strategies we had in place last academic year. In other words, we will have regular schedules (mod included), regular food service, and the typical number of teaching sections. And just to reiterate, we will not offer a hybrid/concurrent teaching program. As we consider the recommendations and watch the data, we will be in a better position to communicate soon what our opening policies will be.

Holland Hall is 100. Let's celebrate!

Holland Hall's Centennial Committee has been hard at work planning a year's worth of celebrations for our community. Keep checking Dutch Weekly for the latest.

Save the date

Convocation — an all-school ceremony that starts with a student parade around Hardesty Field and ends with a rally in the Walter Arts Center — is set for Friday, August 27. For the centennial celebration, families are invited to watch the opening festivities from the football stands. The Walter Arts Center ceremony will be broadcast on the new video scoreboard. Then families will leave before students enjoy a morning of carnival games and pizza.

Primary School carnival volunteers needed

While the Middle and Upper school students are enjoying games and pizza on the Chapman Green for Convocation, the Primary School will have its own celebration. And there's one way for parents to watch.Primary School students will celebrate with a big carnival on Convocation day — Friday, August 27. We have many volunteer opportunities to set up, break down, and supervise carnival stations. Shifts by grade are described so parents can sign up during the time slot during which their child is visiting the carnival. Go to the Signup Genius to pick your time!
