Holland Hall Upper School Arts Department presents 'Into the Woods'

James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite Brothers Grimm storybook characters (Cinderella, Jack, Little Red Riding Hood and more) and brings them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece ... and a rare modern classic.

The story follows a baker and his wife who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. An epic fairytale about wishes, family and the choices we make.

While this show is based on popular fairy tale characters and appropriate for all ages, parents of younger children should be aware that darker themes are explored in the second act.

When: March 2-4, 7 p.m.
Where: Branch Theatre, Walter Arts Center
Cost: $10 adults and $7 students

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Participate in the used clothing drive

In preparation for the Middle School Day of Service, we are collecting gently used athletic wear and shoes, in adult sizes only.

One of the locations we plan to serve on March 22 is The Tulsa Day Center.

They provide approximately 500 outfits every week to the homeless population in Tulsa.

Students can bring donations to Ms. Parker's room (107), or place them in the appropriate marked bins in the Middle School.

Stay tuned for more details to come on the Middle School Day of Service!

MS uniforms for 2023-24 school year

Starting with the 2023-24 school year, the Middle School shirts will be navy.

This year’s gray shirts — which were discontinued — and the cardinal red shirts may be worn for the 2023-24 school year.

Girls also will be able to wear khaki skirts, pants or shorts, as well as the navy or plaid skirts.

You may buy the navy shirts from C&J or Lands’ End, both of which will have logoed shirts in a Dry-Fit material, as well as a pique cotton. A+ Uniforms — former C&J — will have a closeout stock of gray shirts at a discounted price if you’d like to replenish your supply.

Families also may buy navy polos without logos and have them embroidered from a list of preferred vendors in the Tulsa area, or from the DutchZone. More details to come.
