Shelby Swanson is the girls volleyball coach at Holland Hall. A coach here since 2018, she guided the Dutch to the program’s first-ever state title in volleyball in 2023.
Swanson was born in Oklahoma City and graduated high school in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in 2009. She played volleyball at Oral Roberts University and earned a theology and ministry degree in 2013 and a year later earned a master’s degree in theology.
In 2023, she was named All-World Volleyball Coach of the Year and also Girls Coach of the Year by the Tulsa World at their annual high school awards banquet.
Swanson also owns a coffee shop, Sona Coffee, which has two locations in the Tulsa area. She has two children and loves to travel.
She is also a family ministry pastor at Tulsa’s Sanctuary Church and in summer 2025 was ordained as an Anglican priest.
“I coach because of the positive impact that sports had in shaping me as a person. I love to compete and play and want to share the joy of athletics, the relationships we develop, and the way we can grow as people with others.”
