Make plans for Field Day

Field Day will happen on Wednesday, October 13, from 5-7 p.m. on the Chapman Green and the area around the Tandy building.Field Day is the annual fundraiser for Middle School and Upper School clubs and grade levels that older students put on for younger students. It is helpful to think of Field Day as a fall carnival, where each club and class put on a booth activity in which children can participate. There will be over 25 booths this year, including the Octopus Toss, pie a freshman in the face, the soda pop wrangle, pumpkin painting and more!. Each booth "costs" a certain amount of tickets, and each ticket costs 50 cents. You can pay with cash or check. We cannot accept cards. For more information, please contact Jennifer Boots-Marshall at jbootsmarshall@hollandhall.org.

A special invite for grandparents and special friends

One of the many unique Holland Hall traditions we hope to continue this year is Grandparents and Special Friends’ Day. It is set for Tuesday, Nov. 23, at 8:30 a.m. Please enter contact information for your grandparents and special friends here by Oct. 11 so that we can invite them to be a part of this celebration.Enter grandparents' information here.

It's simply Dutch Divine

The Holland Hall Alumni Association is bringing back Dutch Divine — a night of gourmet food, fine wines and music provided by alumni — on Nov. 6.This year's menu is Cafeteria Chic, in honor of its new location at the A.R. and Marylouise Tandy Dining and Wellness Center. But you know you won't get macaroni and cheese and chicken tenders at this event catered by local restaurant owner and chef Justin Thompson '98 and Juniper head chef Myles McClanahan '98, and current parent Kate Atkinson. Wines are provided by wineries with local ties — Darms Lane, 32 Winds and Downward Dog — and Nicholas Foster '10 will serenade the crowd, hopefully with some tracks from his latest album, "Trophy Husband," from Horton Records.Tickets are $125, and sponsorships are available to honor your favorite alumna/alumnus, faculty member or class. All proceeds benefit the Alumni Fund for Financial Aid.Tickets and sponsorships: https://hollandhall.wufoo.com/forms/q2nk2zg19fnzuy/Cheers!

From the Head of School's office: Continue to mask next week

Based on the data from this week and likely projections for the next, we will maintain our mask requirement for adults and students for the coming week. Please trust we would all like to get to a mask optional stance as quickly and as safely as possible. The current numbers and lack of access to a vaccine for our youngest simply do not make that reasonable right now.As a reminder, we are taking a measured approach to masking. We require them for vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals when the daily Tulsa County Covid numbers are at 31 cases per 100,000 residents or more. We will announce the following week's mask status in Dutch Weekly every Friday. The policy is listed here below for reference.

COVID on campus

When there is a confirmed COVID case on campus, we will update our website here. If your child has been identified to quarantine, you will be contacted personally. Please keep your child home if they are experiencing any signs of illness and contact our Director of Health Services Kathleen Alabbasi, nurse@hollandhall.org. Also, if your child develops symptoms typical of allergies, a sinus infection, or the common cold, we ask that you contact your physician for determination of the need for a COVID test. Data indicates that the Delta variant primarily presents with similar symptoms and thus can be easily overlooked, according to our nursing staff.

Flu shots available

Holland Hall families are invited to get flu shots on campus, courtesy of Med-World Pharmacy, on Oct. 20.Shots are free for Holland Hall employees, and there is no copay for families with Health Choice, Community Care, Blue Lincs and Global Health insurance. Those with other insurance companies — or those paying out of pocket — will be charged $35. If your insurance pays for the shot, you will be refunded by mail.Bring a copy of your insurance card or take a photo of it when you register online. No appointment needed.
